Let me take you on a guided walking tour of Rome while eating along the way. They say it was the Romans that invented Street food. You can imagine the busy streets of Rome with travelers, merchants and workers all looking for something quick to eat. Romans will always find an excuse to eat. I must have been a Roman in my past life.

My tour starts in beautiful Piazza Farnese, home of the France embassy  then we take a leisurely walk through the street of the eternal city and its Centro storico. We walk through Campo dei Fiori and see some of the amazing produce on offer at the market. We discover street food and delicacies most loved by Romans today and end up our touring sipping on a well deserved espresso

The tour is 3,5 hours with least at 5 eating stops at some of the most famous places in the city.

So come and join me on Chef Valter’s - Roman Walking Food Tour and let me guide you through the best food in the city.

SOME POSSIBLE TASTINGS

  • Supplì - they are a must have when visiting Rome. These golden cheesy rice-balls are the most loved food of Romans and tourists.

  • Pizza bianca e mortazza - it a thick slice of pizza thats baked with only salt and olive oil then sliced and filled with delicious mortadella, a Roman staple. You can’t leave Rome without trying it. Its the perfect snack or perfect lunch for someone who it strapped for time and it also delicious and not to mention inexpensive. We will taste one of the best in town, in an ancient bakery.

  • Wine tasting - we take a stroll over to an old enoteca (Wine bar) tucked away in the tiny street of Rome to taste some varieties of both red and white wine

  • Oil tasting - olive oil is serious business in Italy. In the past it was used in trade. I call it liquid gold and learning about it and it various qualities is quintessential when learning about food and how good quality olive oil makes the difference.

  • Cheese board and cured meats - we will sample some typical roman cheeses accompanied by a glass of regional wine in one of the most famous delis the very centre of the Rome.

  • Pastasciutta - Try a roman classic pasta dish. Amatriciana or Cacio e Pepe. You haven’t been top Rome if you haven’t try these dishes. You’ll thank me later

  • Artisan Gelato - Rome is full of fake gelato. I will teach you how to recognise the difference. We will also be tasting some of the best artisan gelato in town, both traditional and innovative flavours

  • Espresso - Like most Italians you end your meal with a coffee and its only done drinking an espresso : )

  • Vegetarian option possible
